FedEx had a problem: it had seven business units each with its own Facebook page. BBDO had the solution: build a single Facebook page that would serve as the hub to each of the sub businesses. They decided to use interactive, rotating 3D FedEx boxes as the metaphor for each of the sub-businesses. Oh, and did we mention that this 3D carousel had to work on an iPad?
So, we built the desktop version in Flash using 3D transformation tools. The real challenge was to duplicate the experience on the iPad. Well, a challenge for some, but not for us.
We leveraged HTML, CSS3 and dug deep into Webkit for Mobile Safari. It was an identical experience whether you were clicking on a mouse or tapping on the iPad. It was a feat that FedEx thought was impossible. BBDO walked away heroes and we walked away with technical bragging rights.
